José Plumed and Manuel Costa, who collects the 39 types of palm trees represented
to the Botanical Garden of the University of Valencia. A museum lives dedicated to the
plant conservation reflecting the great biodiversity of plant species
that we can find on our planet. With this work the Botanist begins a
series of botanical monographs that will be dedicated to the various collections
that welcomes, starting with the great family * Arecaceae that brings together almost 3,000
species of palm trees that exist today. With its woody port
of * stipe generally unbranched and with leaves gathered at the top, this
large group of monocots has unmistakable characteristics that
they will be addressed throughout the book.
